Executive Team

Ron Strand
President/CEO

Ron along with his wife Kathy founded Calico Building Services, Inc. in 1986. Ron is a California native, with more than 40 years experience in service related industries. He prides himself on building teams of quality individuals and employees who can carry out his vision of providing excellence in service and quality customer care.

Prior to founding Calico Ron’s professional career included sales, management and leadership positions with such companies as The Los Angeles Times, Anchor Post Products and Kueffel & Esser Company. He attended Southern California College (now known as Vanguard University) in Orange County and Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California.

In addition to his corporate duties, Ron serves on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations and began his own non-profit in 2009.

As President/CEO of Calico, Ron maintains a high visibility with both customers and employees. Under his leadership, Calico has gained a reputation as one of the most well respected quality building and property service companies in the United States.

Christopher Guidry
Vice President of Maintenance & Construction Services

Chris Guidry has more than 30 years of experience in the construction, building maintenance and property service industry. Prior to joining Calico in 2004, Chris served for 16 years at PCM Management as Maintenance Operations Manager at the 12,738 home senior’s community of Leisure World. During that time Chris developed a stellar reputation among both colleagues and clients.

At Calico, Chris is responsible for our statewide construction and maintenance division with oversight of more than 100 employees and vendors. As Executive Vice President, Chris plays an integral part in Calico’s marketing development.

Chris attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana and later earned a Industrial Design degree at Fullerton College. He is a licensed California State B-1 General Contractor. Chris has also earned a number of certifications in the following fields:

  • Home Inspection
  • Noise Abatement
  • Fire, Smoke & Water Restoration

He is an active member of the I.C.B.O. and I.I.C.R.C. and strives for excellence through on-going education and participation in industry trade associations. Customers, peers and employees highly respect Chris for his ‘can do’ attitude, friendliness and professionalism.

Thomas Miquelon
Vice President, Business Operations

Since 1980, Tom has gained extensive experience in Corporate, Project and Operations Management. Throughout his professional career he has been recognized and distinguished as an individual with skills in building organizational teams, technical staffs and implementing management solutions.

His “lead by example” management approach has gained Thomas tremendous respect among colleagues and peers. He is very effective in building team relationships, imparting corporate values, and creating a motivational work environment.

He has held management and lead positions with such companies as AT&T, MCI/WorldCom, and NorthPoint Communications. He has also worked with small entrepreneurial companies and understands management and operations from a hands-on position.

Orlando Fernandez
Vice President of Janitorial Services

Orlando joined the management team at Calico in 2006 as Executive Vice President in charge of the Janitorial Division. Orlando has over 13 years of experience in Project and Operations Management where he specialized in the creation of quality control solutions and streamlining business processes. He is skilled in team building with the ability to establish and manage productive working relationships with both customers and employees.

Prior to joining Calico, Orlando was a Superintendent at Pulte Homes. His past experience also includes project management positions at AT&T’s Network Engineering & Operations division, NorthPoint Communications and Verizon Airfone, Inc.

Orlando earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He also holds an AOS Degree in Electronics Engineering & Avionics Technology from Technical Trade Institute.

Orlando has been recognized with various management awards throughout his career and served proudly in the United States Army.

Kim Swan
Vice President, Finance

Bringing with her over three decades of public and private accounting, Kim Swan joined the Calico team in the summer of 2015. Since that time she has worked to improve Calico’s financial processes and operational procedures. Kim is a results driven leader and demonstrates a high level of loyalty and integrity.

Kim began her work in accounting at Emmerson Electric in the 1990s and quickly rose to the position of assistant controller while still in her early twenties. During her time at Emmerson Electric, Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from California State University, Fullerton. After graduation Kim worked in public accounting for nearly 10 years before moving back into a controller’s position. Since then she has held strategic level accounting and management positions.

Kim also maintains her License as a California Registered Tax Preparer, CRTP. Kim demonstrates functional expertise in financial reporting, analysis and planning, cash flow management, internal controls, diagnosing problems and finding successful solutions.

Administrative Team

Cecilia Frisbee
Director HR/Payroll

Cecilia serves as Calico’s Director HR/Payroll, acting as a synergistic link between Calico’s Administrative, Janitorial and Maintenance departments. In this capacity she is responsible for the coordination of office operations to facilitate organizational effectiveness and efficiency. She is instrumental in the allocation of resources to facilitate performance through assigning and monitoring of administrative tasks among office staff.

Cecilia is a native Californian who graduated from UC Irvine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology. She managed the UC Irvine Police Department’s Community Service Officer Program, supervising more than 40 student security personnel. Cecilia speaks four languages and had the opportunity to live in Italy while studying abroad.

Katie Dralle
Director of Marketing |

In 2004, Katie joined Calico’s Customer Service and Marketing team. The combination of her charismatic personality and unparalleled dedication has made Katie the ideal Calico team member. In fact, many will describe Katie as genuine, kindhearted and the true illustration of a “people person.” Fittingly, Katie lives by this inspirational quote: “Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties,” by Helen Keller.

In late 2006, Katie left to explore other industries in order to diversify and build-upon her business experience. During this time, she expanded her knowledge base in the areas of sales, marketing and business development.

And when Calico offered her an opportunity to rejoin the organization in 2012, Katie welcomed the challenge knowing that Calico was about to undergo a major expansion nationwide. Having worked in the marketing industry for over a decade, Katie naturally brings forth original ideas, veteran expertise and inimitable devotion to customer service.

Katie is currently the Director of Marketing at Calico. In this position, she represents Calico to prospective and existing customers. She is also the frontline contact at tradeshows, forums and in other business networking settings. Katie is also responsible for the consistent preservation and enhancement of the Calico brand. Appropriately enough, Katie’s sales philosophy mirrors the core values of Calico; Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty and most importantly, Customer Satisfaction.

Guy Reza
Director of Business Development |

Guy brings over 15 years of experience in the janitorial and construction cleanup industry, specializing in high-end, corporate headquarter facilities and large square footage properties. He brings a vitality and professionalism that mirrors Calico’s vision for superior work product and unparalleled customer service. Prior to his years in the janitorial industry, Guy enjoyed a successful career in commercial and multi-family property sales and management. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in both California and Texas and also holds a California Specialty Contractors license.

Guy is a California native and was raised in Huntington Beach. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at UCLA in 1987 where he was part of its nationally ranked rowing team. Outside of work, Guy is involved in the UCLA Alumni Association, the UCLA Parent’s Council, and Seabreeze Church. Guy enjoys outrigger canoe racing, bike riding, and spending time with his wife and three children.

Eugene Santiago
Regional Sales Manager |

Eugene Santiago joined our team as a Sales Associate in late 2013. He joins us with over sixteen years of sales experience. Eugene started his sales career when he was attending Cal State Fullerton. He started at an internship for a major office equipment supplier and he soon realized his talent for sales and communicating was his passion. His ability to relate to people as well as his understanding of the janitorial and maintenance industry brings a great asset to the team. Eugene has wonderful energy and enthusiasm for what Calico has to offer our customers. He specializes in the restaurant and hospitality industries. Eugene and his wife Regina and daughter Cherish enjoy tennis and spending time with friends and family. We are very excited to have Eugene as part of our team.

Phil Spallino
Business Analyst

Phil plays an integral support role in Calico’s business and administrative operation. In this position he reports directly to Thomas Miquelon who is Vice President of Business Operations. Phil works in a utility position by lending support and assistance to the accounting and human resource departments. In addition, he lends technical support to the company’s IT structure.

Prior to coming to Calico, Phil was employed by Office Depot as a department manager in technology sales. In this position he was responsible for training sales associates and cashiers, cash audits and store openings and closings. Phil is fluent in both English and Spanish.

As the son of missionaries, Phil was born in Manila, Philippines. He has also lived in Hong Kong, Germany, France, England and Mexico. After coming back to the states Phil attended Utah State University and Utah Valley State College with a focus on business.

Dennis Thurston
Purchasing Coordinator

Dennis Thurston started at Calico in 1998 as a delivery driver and warehouse stock person. Since that time, Dennis’ responsibilities have grown as diversely and as rapidly as Calico has grown. Dennis currently works as the Purchasing Coordinator and is responsible for vendor relationships, warehouse management, fleet operations, and material purchasing for the entire Calico organization.

Dennis is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Fullerton University in Business Administration.

Janitorial Regional Managers

Maggie Gonzalez
Regional Manager, Southern California

Maggie is a seasoned professional, with experience in property services. After serving for more than six years at one of the nation’s largest senior’s communities as a property service representative, she accepted the position of Janitorial Coordinator at Calico.

Her experience has given her first-hand working knowledge in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, decking, janitorial, landscape & irrigation, pest control, emergency flood, fire and disaster restoration.

Maggie is extremely helpful in assisting customers, understanding service needs and resolving problems. Calico receives customer praise and compliments about Maggie’s pleasant attitude, helpfulness and industry knowledge. She has been a great asset to Calico’s customer service team.

Giovanni Risso
Regional Manager, Northern California

Giovanni Risso (“Gio”) came to Calico with more than 25 years of operational experience in the service and technology industry. He has held management positions with companies such as Micro Centre where he was responsible for personnel management and sales operations. His knack for identifying, hiring and training quality individuals has been proven by meeting and exceeding company goals and objectives.

At Calico Gio is responsible for overseeing and managing an operational staff of more than 200 field technicians, supervisors and janitors in Northern California. He has a unique approach to developing key employees, whom he mentors and trains for responsible leadership roles.

Gio also works very closely with Calico’s clients to promote proper communication, assure customer satisfaction and delivering quality of service.

Gio holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, which he earned from San Francisco State University. He is certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration in janitorial services, building maintenance and carpet care.
