Subcontractors and Suppliers Standards
These Subcontractors and Suppliers Standards are fundamental expectations Calico Building Services has for its Subcontractors and Suppliers to ensure optimal social and environmental conditions. We value the safety and well-being of the individuals who provide goods and services for our customers. Therefore, we require all our Subcontractors and Suppliers to abide by these Standards. Please review the following Standards carefully.
All Subcontractors and Suppliers need to fully comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations related to taxes, licenses, labor, immigration, health and safety, and the environment.
Prior to employment, all Subcontractors and Suppliers must implement hiring practices that accurately verify the worker’s age and legal rights to work in the United States. All terms and conditions for employment must be met including, but not limited to, hiring, pay, training, promotion, termination, and retirement must be based on an individual’s ability and willingness to do the job.
It is essential for all Subcontractors and Suppliers to provide workers with rest days and need to ensure that working hours are not excessive and abide by federal and state laws. Subcontractors and Suppliers need to timely pay off all workers with wages, overtime premiums, and appropriate benefits that meet or exceed federal and state law.
All Subcontractors and Suppliers must recognize their obligations under the National Labor Relations Act. Subcontractors and Suppliers must agree not to interfere with an employee’s right to engage in organizing activities, or the right to refrain from such activities, and that employees will not be subject to retaliation for exercising these rights.
All Subcontractors and Suppliers must not agree to enter into transactions with Calico Building Services that create a conflict of interest.
All Subcontractors and Suppliers must provide workers with a safe and healthy work environment. All Subcontractors and Suppliers must take proactive measures to prevent workplace hazards and unsafe conditions at all times.
t is required for All Subcontractors and Suppliers to keep accurate records of all matters related to their business with Calico Building Services consistent with standard accounting practices.
All Subcontractors and Suppliers must not tolerate, permit or engage in bribery, corruption, or unethical practices, whether in dealing with public officials or individuals in the private sector.
Violations of the Calico Building Services’ Standards can be reported confidentially. You are encouraged to report any conduct if you have knowledge that any of these Standards are being violated.
All Subcontractors and Suppliers must not offer gifts or entertainment to Calico Building Services’ employees or anyone working on behalf of Calico Building Services.
